Our Repeater in Vassalboro was struck by Lighting during the Storm
today. The Access Point went down at 1:53pm, we replaced the
damaged equipment, and the repeater was up and running at 4:16pm
6/28/03
11:00am We have repaired the connection from Skowhegan to Winslow,
restoring full service to the Madison and Skowhegan areas. A
faulty router was the cause.
6/27/03
Noise affected our connections in the Winslow area today. We have
made a change to compensate. We also ran a new power cable for the
main router in Winslow, providing more backup time should the power go
out. Our connection from Skowhegan to Winslow failed this
afternoon. the connection went down at 3:45pm. We had Madison and
Skowhegan back up and running on a backup connection, by 4:30pm.
This Connection will allow people to connect through the night, until we
can fix the problem in the morning.
6/17/03
Installed a larger UPS at the tower in Winslow. This will allow us
to keep service up for a couple of hours should the power go out.

4:47am: We have completed our network maintenance window ahead of
schedule. Downtime was estimated at around 2 hours. The router
changeover was successful. Our new IP address server is installed and
waiting to be configured and tested. The web server will wait till next
maintenance window due to switching over old customers. We thank our
customers for their patience during this maintenance window.
12/27/02 Our 2nd T1 from AT&T was finally installed on December 18th
and has been hooked into our network. This 2nd T1 has effectively
doubled our current bandwidth capacity. Speeds have been vastly improved
since the installation. We would like to thank AT&T and Verizon for
their efforts. We are planning a maintenance window on Sunday to do some
router upgrades to better manage the 3 T1 lines. We also will be
installing another server to do IP address assignments automatically,
and switch over to the new web server. The new mail server is working
great. E-mail administration and webmail features are very nice. We will
be posting the webmail feature soon.
11/29/02 A lot of work has been done to the network over the last few
months. Speeds and network reliability have been vastly improved.
Servers are being replaced with new hardware and software to increase
reliability and offer new services. The last of the tower work will be
completed in the spring, due to the weather.
7/8/02 We completed our work on the Courthouse repeater to fix the
lightning damage and take steps to minimize lightning strike damage. We
are sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused.
7/5/02 We dispatched a crew to work on the Courthouse repeater in the
early morning and repaired the damage due to the lightning strike.
7/4/02 The Courthouse repeater in Skowhegan went down during a lightning
storm in the evening.
6/20/02 Our upstream internet service provider, Mid-Maine
Communications, had their fiber optic backbone cable cut by accident,
which knocked all Airolink customers offline. This outage also took our
office phones offline for the duration of the repair work. The outage
first occurred around 1:15pm and lasted until 5pm, when Mid-Maine had
successfully finished the repair work. This outage will be prevented in
the future when our second, redundant T1 provided from AT&T, comes
online within the next two weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience
this may have caused you. During this outage, we took some time to
diagnose and fix the upstream through the Madison repeater.
6/17/02 The Winslow wireless backhaul that provides service to the
greater Waterville area repeaters suffered from unknown interference
starting on Friday. Due to the rain, we were not able to get out to the
Winslow tower to work on the backhaul until 12pm Monday. The
interference issue was resolved shortly thereafter. There were a few
short downtimes as we were working on the backhaul, so anyone in the
greater Waterville area experienced erratic connections. Our customers
in the greater Skowhegan area were not affected by the interference
issue.
6/7/02 Upgrades to the Vassalboro repeater were finished today by taking
it offline from 12:30pm to 2pm. We upgraded the router, replaced an
antenna, and replaced the connectors on all of the wires. Network speed
and stability has been improved through the repeater. We are sorry for
any inconvenience that this may have caused.
6/6/02 We took the Vassalboro repeater down for upgrades at around 5pm.
We restored service to the Vassalboro repeater by 8:30pm.
5/22/02 We worked on the Madison repeater from 5pm to 7pm, doing
maintenance on it. We replaced connectors, pigtails, re-aligned the
antenna, and guyed the top of the antenna to keep it from swaying in the
wind. This work has improved the performance of the repeater. The outage
in service lasted around 2 hours and 15 minutes, just over what we
expected it would take. Anyone who was connected to the MadisonAP, Rays,
or Wards repeater lost their service for this time period. We are sorry
for any inconvenience this may have caused.
5/21/02 Verizon has delayed the installation of our T1. We will be
posting the new installation date as soon as we know.
5/10/02 Verizon gave us May 22nd as the date for the installation of our
new T1 which is being provided from AT&T. This second T1 will help
increase overall network speed and redundancy for our service.
5/6/02 We worked on fixing the signaling issue at the Skowhegan
Courthouse repeater today. There is some outside interference causing
problems with our equipment. We are working on resolving the issue.
4/24/02 We have fixed the problem at the Bigelow Hill repeater. It was
caused by a firmware mismatch between the router and the pc cards in the
router.
4/24/02 At around 6:20am, the Bigelow Hill repeater went down, causing
interruption in service to customers in the Norridgewock, Madison, and
Skowhegan areas. The service was restored at around 7:30am. We are
investigating the cause of the downtime.
4/17/02 At 3:15pm, the tower at Bigelow Hill was struck by lightning and
interrupted service for customers in the Skowhegan. Madison, and
Norridgewock regions. A crew was dispatched and service was restored at
around 6pm. Steps are being taken to minimize lightning damage and
downtime
