Airolink Network Configuration

The following settings are for customers with Airolink Installed USB or PCI Devices only.

To enter your network configuration:

Windows 98, Windows ME:
Click on Start, then Settings, then Control Panel. Then double click on the Network Control Panel. Then Double-click on the TCP/IP for Orinoco (or Avaya adapter if you have this one). Make sure "Obtain an IP address automatically" is selected. Then click on the "Gateway" tab at the top. Make sure there are no installed gateways. If there are, click on them to highlight them and click remove. Then click on the "DNS Configuration" tab at the top. Make sure "Disable DNS" is selected. Then click on the "Bindings" tab at the top. Uncheck everything in that window. Click on "ok". A dialog window may pop up. Select "no" to the question. Then select "ok". Then a dialog box will pop up asking to reboot your computer. Select "yes". Once your computer has rebooted, verify you can get online by checking for e-mail and opening a web browser to surf to a website.

Windows 2000
Click on start, then settings, then control panel, then network and dial up connections.  Then Double click on the Wireless Connection.  Click on the Properties button.   Under Components checked are used by this connection, uncheck all except Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).  Then double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).  select Obtain an IP address automatically, and select Obtain DNS server address automatically.  Click OK, and then click on OK again. Click Close and you are done.

Windows XP:
On the desktop, look down in the lower right hand corner for a little icon that looks like two monitors and flashes. Move your cursor over top of it and it should popup a tooltip saying "Wireless Network Connection" or "Airolink Connection". Right click on this icon, and select status. Then click on the properties button. Make sure the "General" Tab is selected. Where it says "this connection uses the following items", make sure everything EXCEPT "Internet Protocol" is unchecked. Then double click on "Internet Protocol". Select "Obtain IP Address Automatically" and select "Obtain DNS Server Address automatically". Then select "ok". Then select "ok". Give the computer a second to make the changes. Once done, click ok to close any other windows. Now verify you can get online by checking for e-mail and opening a web browser to surf to a web site.
