Internet Browsing Tips

Here are a few internet browsing tips that can help improve internet speeds, reliability, and performance.

Internet Explorer 5.x and 6 tips:

Open Internet Explorer, then go to Tools, Internet Options. Under temporary internet files, click settings. Then set the amount of files to cache at roughly 50mb. Having this set to a small size makes your browsing faster by letting the computer not have to sift through 1000s of files to find a cached version of a web site when your computer can just go to the web site instead. Then check "Every visit to this page" option. This makes sure the cached version of any websites stored on your computer is the latest and updated. Then click "ok". Then click "Delete files". Then check "Delete all offline content". Then click "ok". This deletes any cached web sites on your computer so you do not have any corrupted web sites in your cache.

While still in the Internet Options, click on the Connections tab at the top of that window. Then click on "Lan settings". Then uncheck "automatically detect network settings".  Unchecking this options tells Internet Explorer to not try to find a Proxy server every time it starts. Airolink does not run a proxy server, so this setting is not needed. Then click "ok". Last, click "ok". These settings should improve web browsing performance.
